Mews Art - Pet Blessing Medallions are approximately 2½” square and are handmade from paper clay (see photo above). Once dried, each medallion is hand painted and decorated. Each is then tied with a coordinating ribbon and has a small quartz crystal attached to it.  In gemology, quartz is known as a protective stone used universally as a symbol of strength and healing. Native Americans still put quartz crystals in new babies’ cradles for protection.  Each medallion comes attached to a greeting card that has a pet blessing prayer or poem printed on the front. The inspiration for these medallions is St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment.
